  • The Goshen patio with an elegant staircase to the lower terrace

    Secluded promontory in Northampton

When the owners of this Crescent Street property purchased this home, it had been converted into a 2-family residence with driveways on either side.  They restored the property to a single family home, and Paradise City Landscape Design redesigned the outdoor patio to create a scenic overlook to the lower gardens.  A custom railing reflects […]

  • Upper patio, third year

    Floating patio in Amherst

This mid-20th century contemporary home features a steep hillside garden in the backyard, with the stone patio space doubling as a catch basin for rainwater from the overhanging roof.  Built in the 1950’s, the aged landscape had degraded to the point where a new scheme was needed.  Paradise City Landscape Design created a design which […]

  • Looking down towards the driveway AFTER

    Beckoning arrival in Williamsburg

The owners of this woodland property wanted a more comfortable arrival sequence to their home.  On a hillside, the original front porch and Goshen steps created a massive trek to get to the owners’ front door…. not a very welcoming gesture. Paradise City Landscape Design teamed up with Kuhn Riddle Architects of Amherst and Lee […]

    Rainwater garden in Northampton

The owners of this Northampton property were experiencing a significant water erosion problem and water in their basement. Paradise City Landscape Design proposed a solution which combines a swale with a beautiful walk through a shaded perennial garden. The swale collects the rainwater runoff from the roof, guiding the water down the slope to the back […]

    Discovery garden in Florence

The owner of this 6-acre property in Florence was interested in creating fun outdoor play spaces for her children. The property is a double lot, with a spring-fed pond and wetland on the northern parcel, with the residence located on the southern parcel. Paradise City Landscape developed a master plan, which included: • The Discovery Garden, […]

  • A quiet respite on the shady patio

    Shade Patio in Florence

The owners of this Beacon Street home had long wanted a Goshen stone patio beneath the shade of their great sugar maple.  Their wooden deck was too small for a comfortable gathering space, and they wanted to be more in their back yard. Paradise City Landscape Design removed the lower step of the existing deck and […]
